High End Weekend in Chicago’s Fulton Market – Friday Arrival

Spent a weekend in Chicago’s West Loop area and I have to say it was really a fantastic place to be for a long weekend. Very upscale and vibrant vibe. Not a cheap place to go, but really a fantastic place to see and be seen. Stayed at Nobu Hotel which was a fantastic location. Right in the heart of everything with a great on-site restaurant and rooftop bar. We stopped at a couple of places prior to dinner for cocktails. First stop was Trivoli Tavern. Tucked away in kind of an alley, we were pleasantly surprised with the good drinks and classic bar feel. Second stop was Bar Siena where we got a table for 2 outside and also got a bit of a snack to tide us over before dinner. We had some time before our reservation so walked over to a nice liquor store Keg and Bottle that I checked out on-line that had a pretty nice bourbon selection. Made a purchase and had them ship it to us back home so it will arrive after we get back home. Dinner on Friday night was at Girl and the Goat which we had been wanting to check out for a really long time being fans of Top Chef and Stephanie Izard. Fantastic food and really great service. Highly recommend it. After dinner we checked out the rooftop bar at Nobu. Great views of the city once the sun goes down. Very busy and spendy, but a cool way to end a fantastic kick-off to the weekend.
