Staycation – Saturday at the Mall of America – Fire Lake, Cedar + Stone, Twin City Grille, Moose Mountain, Crave – Bloomington, MN

About a month ago it looked like we wouldn’t have any plans for a spring break this year, so we decided to have a staycation by staying at the Radisson Blu in the Mall of America and make an evening of it. The mall was pretty packed – reminded us of why going to the MoA on the weekends is really not our favorite place to be. That said, we had a good time sampling cocktails from a few nice places and playing a round of mini golf. We checked into the hotel and started our night at Fire Lake, the bar and restaurant in the Radisson Blu. Bartender and drinks were good (but spendy – theme of the night) and the place was fairly busy with several families hanging out. Next, we walked to the other side of the mall and went to Cedar + Stone which looked deceivingly small, but we were just in the bar area in the front. Service was a little slow, but made a nice hand-made cocktail to enjoy. We went to Twin City Grille for dinner. This is one of my favorite places to eat in the Mall of America for a good steak. Did not disappoint. After dinner we played a round of mini-golf at Moose Mountain. A nice diversion, but there were a couple of big groups in front of us that made playing – reeeeeaaaalllly slow. I would not recommend going on the weekend, or at least on a Saturday. To end the night we had a nightcap at Crave. Also once of my favorite places at the MoA serving a combo of American fare along with sushi options. You can check out all of the places we have visited and written about on our Links page.
